CBC-baroque-festival-2018-extOur 2nd annual singing competition will take place on Sunday 25th March 2018, the aim of which is to discover and encourage new young singers of talent and provide them with an opportunity to perform before an audience and a panel of renowned professional judges (Catherine Bott, Peter Savidge and David Crown). The winner will also have the opportunity to perform with the Cheltenham Bach Choir and a professional orchestra. The competition is open to young professional singers from all voice registers who are aged 28 or under on 25th March 2018. Full details are available on our singing competition page.

On Saturday 24th March we begin our concerts for 2018 with one of the greatest choral works ever written, Bach’s majestic B minor Mass.

The Musical and Amicable Baroque Orchestra, an orchestra of some of the best Baroque instrumentalists in the country, will accompany the choir as we bring to life the extraordinary emotional scope of the work.

Join us on Friday 23rd March at Chapel Arts, Cheltenham for a recital of a selection of Bach’s great collection of Preludes and Fugues for solo keyboard from “The Well-Tempered Clavier”, performed on the piano by Luka Okros, winner of more than ten top international prizes and awards.
